Gameweek 10 - Waiver Wire Fantrax Fantasy EPL Draft Sleepers
David Brooks, M - Bournemouth
Fitting for spooky season, David Brooks is a ghost-point option this week with 7 points in 55 min against a stubborn Wolves in GW9. Brooks is in sharp scoring form recently and the Welsh international will try to continue in that mold against a very leaky Burnley side, who have the second worse defense in the Premier League campaign thus far. Brooks, just 9% rostered, is fit and could provide both ghost and true attacking returns against the vulnerable Clarets who have already shipped 23 goals through nine games.
Jamaal Lascelles, D - Newcastle
Newcastle remain one of the best defenses in the league, which hasn't changed since the regular starter Botman has gone out with a knee injury. Skipper Lascelles has come in to marshal well in his stead, and seems to be starting for a foreseeable few weeks until Botman's recovery (which keeps getting extended). He's started their last 3 and is averages about 7 ghosts per game, leading the Magpies in defense aerials and blocks. Wolves are still struggling to score and he is a solid option with just 18% of managers rostering him.
Ezri Konsa, D - Aston Villa
While Forest weren't able to secure a clean sheet against Luton, Villa's record at home is fantastic. Konsa likely will not offer much going forward outside of set piece threats, but the scout likes his odds of bagging points against a Luton side with attacking woes. Gameweek 10 sees Villa at home vs. Luton as the most favorable fixture in this season's campaign for Defenders, but favorable fixtures in gameweeks 11 and 12 could preserve Villa defender value for a few weeks beyond the stream. Look to pick Ezri at just 23% rostered if you need some defensive output in GW10.
Matheus Franca, M/F - Crystal Palace
Our scout included him in this week's pick despite being skeptical of returns against a Spurs side that is flying. However, if you need an attacker and he isn't taken in your league (currently only 9% rostered), Brazilian new boy Franca is an exciting option for a Palace side lacking in goal threat. He's been injured since signing, but his fitness has returned and provided immeadiate impact off the bench with three key passes away at Newcastle. With Eze and Olise both still out, Palace can look to him for energy and output. You may be able to wait and snag him next week, but if you have room it's worth a punt to secure Franca's services now before Burnley, Luton and Crystal Palace on the horizon.
Fantrax Waiver Wire Punt of the Week
Thilo Kehrer, D - West Ham
With West Ham's congested fixtures and defensive rotation, Kehrer is a speculative option against Everton at either CB or replacing Emerson on the flank. Keep an eye on the Hammers fixture Thursday as to who plays and may need rest on the weekend. With Everton's play style, should Kehrer get the nod, he will scored well from clearances and defensive stats alongside clean sheet potential and aerials.
